If old DS4-Windows still installed, uninstall that. Check here for any extra controller drivers and/software. Then go to classic Control Panel > Programs and Features. It should remove itself if you connect your DS4 controller with that driver installed and while connected, go to Device Manager and find everything to do with that controller and when you click Uninstall, click option for "remove drivers/software" when asked. Wireless controller is still all that shows if just connected to windows or steam. After this fix, "wireless controller" and "HID Compliant game controller" appeared when connected via USB or bluetooth WHILE USING DS4 Windows. Also, prior to this fix when connecting my controller via USB or bluetooth and using DS4Windows, "wireless controller" is all that would show in devices and printers. When I checked the drivers for HID compliant game controller, it showed none being installed.
